TFT coaching,
for free

An hour with a high-rank player runs €20–50, and the first one almost always covers material that is already written down. Here it is — twelve chapters, in the order they build on each other.

What a first session usually covers

Part one

Gold and tempo

Where gold comes from, what it's worth holding, and when to spend it. This is the part with the biggest effect on your average placement.

  1. How the game works 8 min
  2. Economy 11 min
  3. Leveling 10 min
  4. Rolling & odds 13 min
Part two

What goes on the board

The three choices that decide how strong a board actually is — and why the strongest one on paper often isn't the one to build.

  1. Items 14 min
  2. Augments 12 min
  3. Team comps 12 min
Part three

The lobby, and you

Everything that happens outside your own shop: the seven other players, how a fight resolves, and the habits that decide a rank rather than a game.

  1. Positioning 12 min
  2. Scouting 10 min
  3. Combat maths 11 min
  4. Wisps (Set 18) 9 min
  5. Climbing 9 min

Prefer the condensed version first? The seven habits that actually climb is one page, and each habit points back at the chapter that covers it in full.

When a coach is still worth the money

Worth paying for

The habit you'd never spot yourself

You think you're losing to bad luck; they watch three games and point out you break your interest breakpoint at 3-2 every single time. No amount of reading finds that, because you're not the one watching.

The same goes for anything mental — tilt, forcing a comp, queueing again straight after a bad game. Those are human problems.

Read first

Everything else

Hold your interest. Scout before you commit items. Don't take the trait augment without the units. Reposition against the board you're about to fight. None of it is secret, and an hour spent being told it is an hour you could have spent reading it.

Go through the chapters first. If you still plateau afterwards a session is worth far more — you'll arrive with real questions.

One aside

The one thing writing can't do

Knowing a habit and holding it are different problems — there are six decisions and about forty seconds. Our desktop app has an AI suggestions panel that reads your board mid-game and names the comps you can still reach, with add, keep and bench by unit. Not a substitute for understanding the game; just the bookkeeping, taken off your hands.

Frequently asked questions

How much does TFT coaching cost?

A private session with a high-rank player typically runs €20–50 an hour, and a habit rarely surfaces in one session. Before booking, it's worth reading the material a first session usually covers — economy breakpoints, level timing, rolling odds and positioning are all written out in the guide on this site, for free.

Can I learn TFT without a coach?

Almost entirely, yes. The decisions that separate ranks — when to level, when to hold gold, which augment fits the board you have, where the carry stands — are all explainable in writing, and they're the twelve chapters here. A coach's real advantage is spotting the one habit you'd never notice on your own.

Is TFT coaching worth it?

It is if your problem is something you can't see yourself, or something mental like tilt and forcing comps. It isn't if your problem is executing habits you already understand under time pressure, which is what most players are actually stuck on — that's a reading-and-repetition problem rather than a coaching one.

Where should I start?

Chapter one if you want the full model. If you'd rather fix the biggest leaks first, start with economy — it has the largest effect on your average placement of anything in the guide.
